In the cool ambience of the Wave Arena of Hotel Grand
Mercure there was fashion, there was colour and there were exotic prints all
brought together by Anupamaa Dayal’s “Masti” collection that was the sensational opening show at Gionee India Beach
Fashion Week 2015 in sun kissed Goa.
Dedicating the show to the adoption of the homeless
dog movement by PETA, Anupamaa unleashed a line-up of mind-blowing prints and
colours that dazzled the audience.
Happy clothes have been Anupamaa’s forté for all her
collections, so this time too it was a profusion of large fragrant flower
prints that bloomed on the garments. Her vibrant colour card was inspired by
the Goan hues as the shades of the sun and sea came alive on the ramp.
From soft gentle pinks inspired by the sunrise to
magical deep blues of the Arabian Sea added flavour to the garments. Languid
silhouettes floated down the catwalk for kaftans, tunics, lean long maxis and
cute blouses all perfect for fun on the beach and in the pool. Adding to the
drama were the stylish scarves and jewellery created by Anupamaa. Really
striking were the stringy fabric gladiator footwear that matched the mood of
the show.
There was a great mix of soft gilets, draped petal
hemline tunics, two toned printed salwars and tiny cholis. Striking cut-outs
for the kaftans were sultry and billowing for the walk under the sun; while
shocking pink tones were for bikini covers and asymmetric kaftan togas
completed the look.
The “Sarini” a mix of the bikini and sari with tiny Kutchy style waistcoats were
eye-catching and so were the two toned printed strappy tunics, kurtis and
salwars. High slit front-open long kurtas, maxi shirt covers, bat sleeve fluid
floor kissing creations and panelled flared capris were some of the beauties on
the catwalk. Creating a glam touch was the sheer black pair of pants.
Ending the show Anupamaa ensured that the theme and
the fun of the creations were kept intact when she showcased two large floral
printed crisp cotton lehengas teamed with ultra seductive bandeau tops and
sensuous dupattas.
For ideal resort wear get some “Masti” into the
wardrobe said Anupamaa Dayal to fashionistas who want to lounge under the sun.
