Every single plastic made still exists in our surroundings penetrating the laws of nature what is resulting into climate change and other sensitive uncertainty.
Keeping our best foot forward, different groups of thoughtful citizens from Thane have hosted "Plastic Free Climate Change Movement" in Yeoor Hills led by HOPE in association with other social & welfare organisations like Earthly Responsibility & Earth Day Network
Yeoor is a hilly area in Thane city of Maharashtra state in India. Situated in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, it is known for its panthers and wildlife and is popularly known as "Mumbai's National Park"

Yeoor has 6 villages, and houses a population of around 5000, largely known as a rural zone of Thane West.

HOPE is leading a awareness campaign followed up with clean up drive covering a radius of 30 km around the hill, collecting all forms and shapes of plastic waste littered in the surrounding such as street, jungle, waste stacked lands etc using essential like gloves, mask, and garbage bags following the process of segregation, the accumulated waste will be handed to a recycling unit.
Promoting Health & Hygiene as a major messages to the citizens of the society for creating a conservative lifestyle aiming to be zero waste city in the future.
More than 300 kg of mixed Plastic Waste was collected in the clean up drive, by young climate activists of Thane.

This was the initial movement pertaining towards Earth Day 2020, with several macro social rural campaigns to be hosted in the upcoming days of this year in order to create a substantial impact in  the environment of Thane.
"Taking a stand for a Plastic Free Society will be our initial step, HOPE would be constructively taking measures related with Plastic Waste management and Up-cycling further Reprocessing the abundant unorganized Plastics which is contaminating the environment" as stated by Parthsarthi Singh, Founder of HOPE : Healing Our Planet Earth
Change is tomorrow but the decision is today. believing in the similar motive other NGO's have joined hands to support this initiative with all the regards.
With a uniform approach we are anticipating a larger positive impact in Thane especially at Yeoor Hills. educating the underprivileged rural kids and member of the territory, making the environment substantially greener and cleaner.
"Earth Day is April 22 of every year. April 22, 2020 will mark 50 years of Earth Day. The major theme for Earth Day 2020 is climate action. The enormous challenge but also the vast opportunities of action on climate change have distinguished the issue as the most pressing topic for the 50th anniversary.
Climate change represents the biggest challenge to the future of humanity and the life-support systems that make our world habitable. Earth Day 2020 wants to recognize every person, every group, and every action being taken to improve our world whether it be lifestyle changes that cut emissions, action on plastics pollution, species protection, university and school teach-ins, tree plantings, local and global cleanups, switching to a more plant-based diets, or voting with your wallet and your ballot.
It’s that time of year again: Time to put 2019 — a tumultuous year of ups and downs for our planet to bed and start fresh with renewed energy and vision for 2020.

To combat climate change, we need bold political action and transformative change across industries and sectors. But change also starts with individual action which should be the main focus for all to instill in each other and bring about sustained changes and protect our Mother Earth. Support Earth Day Network by joining its several initiatives such as Earth Rise, VoteEarth, Protect Our Species, Great Global Cleanup Campaign, #EndPlasticPollution, Artists for Earth, Earth Challenge 2020 and many more" Words by Pornica Chatterjee Assistant Manager Earth Day Network on Earthday 2020
For enriching the youth for this movement HOPE will be carrying forward this act on a consistent note by conducting more such clean up and awareness drives around the vicinity of Thane.
