Rusha and Blizza release their second EP to touch your souls ‘Sutra’

Producers/DJs, Rusha & Blizza in association with Alfa Records, are all set to launch ‘Sutra’ after the overwhelming and humbling response for its first EP ‘Mudra’. The duo digging their feet into the fertile ground of folk, electronic and experimental music with their new EP ‘Sutra’. Across six tracks, we hear an interconnected emphatic, genre-fluid approach that incorporates sound design and beat-making, arguably catapulting the duo into an elevated territory in the Indian music realm.

The EP titled ‘Sutra’ and song names (spelling out a mystique-heavy utterance about nature and continuity) reveals this transcendent sonic experience addressing the thread of existence, Kaise, Barse, Hawa, Hoye, Kaal, and Anth are the names of the tracks. The entire EP represents Movement & Transition, and a gyro on the cover is a symbol of being firmly rooted, put together they Portray “Out of Chaos Breeds Clarity.

In fact the track ‘kaise’ has an interesting video coming out on 24th of Oct 2020. It explains how amidst pain and confusion, you meet your own self and the entire transition of choosing freedom and moving forward.

Working together for years, Rusha & Blizza, although ruling their professional lives on one side; have always managed to keep their passion for music alive through their creations. The duo craft indefatigable bass booms, tribal energy, and vocal hooks, borrowing from different Indian traditional strains for seemingly constructed chaos. ‘Sutra’ comes across as a breath of fresh air on each listen, for its intricate sonic blueprint as well as an untried approach to electronic music.

Speaking on the EP Launch, Sarthak Kush, founder of Alfa Records quotes,” This is clearly a genius of these guys coming together to make something new and give a new drive to music in India. I am super-duper excited to see how family-like fans are going to react to it, the new EP has a substance which will definitely entice the listeners.”

Adding to the excitement of the release, Rusha, shares, “Since we produced this EP during this tough time, we tried not to force ourselves to follow any standard style or pattern, rather embrace and be guided by the vulnerability of the present and our shared optimism for the future.”

Sharing the overall look and feel, Blizza shares, “We always try to keep exploring new sounds, and our every release might be very different from the last one, there is some continuity in some respects to our past work, but the ep has its own soul.”

Ambedkar, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram, Gudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari, Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai in strict adherence to the guidelines laid by the Maharashtra Government.

Last few months have been quite uncertain for everyone due to the coronavirus enforced lockdown. Everybody confined to their homes, engaged in household work, bonding with their loved ones, developing new skills and rediscovering their lost passion. But one thing that stood in good stead was catching up on their favourite television shows and characters.

Speaking of which, here’s what &TV artists had to share about their lockdown time, to now gearing up to resume the shoot.

Aasif Sheikh, the Vibhuti Narayan of &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai shares, “I took this time to bond with my family, rekindle my lost passion for reading and writing, and experiment with food. I was also shifting to a new house, which was quite a daunting task. This lockdown time has taught me to value time and freedom more than ever. On the work front, I have been longing to get back into my character of Vibhuti Narayan and entertain my viewers. A lot of fans had been telling me how much they love our show and have been binge-watching it. I am eager to go back to my earlier routine. We have been briefed thoroughly by the production team on the shooting guidelines and precautions.  They are leaving no stone unturned to ensure everyone adheres to social distancing norms, wears masks when not on camera, alongside maintaining high-standards of sanitation on-sets.”

Shubhangi Atre, the Angoori Bhabhi of &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai shares, “It was an unexpectedly long break which allowed me to pursue my passion for dance along with frequent meditation sessions. I spent a lot of time with my daughter, engaging her in arts and crafts along with baking and cooking. However, there was always this question in the back of my mind on how soon can we resume work? I am happy now that we are gearing to resume shoots for the show with the utmost safety and precautions. I am eager to hear the words Lights, Camera, and Action after a long time. We all have been briefed on the guidelines, and we will ensure we strictly adhere to it at all times. I am quite excited and eagerly looking forward to entertaining my audience with fresh episodes of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai.”

Rohitashv Gour who plays Manmohan Tiwari in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai adds, “I spent this time engaging in household work, playing board games and staying in touch with my family, friends and fans through live interactions and video calls. I have been working for many years, and this sudden pause did make me miss shooting big time. I am quite happy to resume shooting. The team has briefed us on the guidelines laid by the government to ensure everyone is safe and adheres to it at all times. This time has taught me that I am not just responsible for my health and safety but also that of others around me, hence it is critical to follow the safety and precautions strictly.”

Yogesh Tripathi, Daroga Happu Singh from &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan shares, “I missed my character of Doroga Happu Singh quite a lot, along with all my cast and crew members. I am looking forward to resuming shooting soon. I spent a lot of time with my child teaching him new things alongside assisting my wife in cooking and even learning a few recipes as well. This lockdown gave me time to introspect and discover a lot of things that I had been contemplating to do for quite some time. I am now eagerly looking forward to entertaining my viewers all over again. The Team has worked out a detailed sanitation plan to ensure we all are safe and adhere to the safety norms at all times during the shoot.”

Gracy Singh from &TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein shares, “It is indeed a tough time as we were fighting the common enemy with all our might. This lockdown time has given me time to introspect and pursue other activities such as dance, meditation and yoga. Shoots now are subjected to the revised guidelines, and I am looking forward to being back on the sets and start rolling. We all have been given a copy of revised guidelines, and we understand that following these are in everyone’s best interest. We all need to align ourselves to this new normal and come back with full enthusiasm and vigour.”

Sneha Wagh, Anjani of &TV’s Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram shares, “The lockdown period helped me focus on self-love and relaxation. I have spent a good amount of time doing Mandala art, and it has brought a lot of positivity in me.  All of my family members are working; this was a good time for us to reunite and spend quality time with each other. I am eager to get back to my normal routine and excited to meet the entire cast after such a long gap. Of course, going forward, we will have to take a lot of precautions on set, but the show must go on.”

&TV actors share views on becoming environmentally responsible citizens

In merely three months of us going into lockdown, Mother Earth saw a tremendous amount of healing. It is enough proof for us to alter certain habits, imbibe a healthy lifestyle and make mindful decisions to keep our environment clean. Every human, young or old, must become advocates of climate change and look after all the elements that are part of mother nature. It has now become more imperative than before for each one of us to direct our efforts and consciously act upon environment protection. On World Environment Day, &TV actors share how even small efforts can bring about a positive change in the environment.

Hailing from the cleanest city of India, Indore, Kamna Pathak, the Dabang Rajesh of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan says, “Not a lot of actors can proudly say this – I belong to one of India’s cleanest city. Indore is the ‘Cleanest City’ four times in a row in Swachh Survekshan, an annual cleanliness survey! India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Indore’s cleanliness streak has set splendid examples for every city and every citizen to draw inspiration. When we can keep our homes clean, why can’t we keep our cities clean? Cleanliness is not just good practice but our responsibility as a human being towards our environment. If everyone starts thinking this way, it can make a significant difference.”

She further adds, “I pick up waste whenever I can and dispose it responsibly. Ever since I started doing this, I noticed a change in me. I started feeling good about myself. Keeping our environment clean also helps us keep our thoughts, our minds clean. A clean environment is everyone’s responsibility.”

Samta Sagar, Gudiya’s mother in &TV’s Gudiya Hamari Sabhi Pe Bhari is not only one of the most talented actors we have, but also an inherently environment-conscious person. This World Environment Day, Samta says, "Water is the essence of our being and is required in all daily activities. Many of us are unaware of how privileged we are to have a 24x7 water supply. In many parts of the world, there is a growing water shortage issue. Imagine standing in a long queue for hours only to fill up one bucket of water. Saving water is a pressing issue, especially in such a densely populated country like ours. Now that monsoon is also here let us not take it for granted. Save as much water as you can. Use less water, re-use water after washing vegetables to water your plants. There are many ways in which we can save water so that others can get their fair share.”

&TV’s Bali, Nirbhay Wadhwa seen in Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram has been passionate about wildlife protection. Putting his best foot forward, Nirbhay shares, “I am incredibly protective of animals, wild-animals especially. I, along with a few friends of mine, often rescue wild animals. We sometimes make arrangements to transport them safely back to their natural habitat. In today’s time, mostly due to our lifestyle choices like food, clothing, infrastructure etc. many animal species are in dire need of protection.

He further stresses upon wildlife protection saying, “Today, we have come to a juncture where we must choose to co-exist, or we will perish. Without wildlife and other animal species, we will not be able to survive. We all have studied the food chain and food web. This World Environment Day let us re-visit the chapters on the environment, re-learn and help create more awareness.” The actor has also walked the ramp for PETA in the past.

Ashish Kadian of Santoshi Maa – Sunayein Vrat Kathayein has been very vocal about environmental issues and measures. This World Environment Day he says, “With lockdown 5.0 and people advised to stay indoors till June 30, we don’t know how far we are from complete decontamination. But we can give back to our environment even by staying home. All we need is to take small steps toward conservation. What families can do is be more mindful that staying home the entire day means more consumption of electricity. It is something each member should be cognizant. Blind consumption of electricity harms the environment in ways more than one! My mother and I ensure we use minimum power while in lockdown. Simple measures like unplugging devices when not in use, using natural light during daytime, using AC sensibly and smartly, could go a long way in conserving energy and an effective way in contributing our bit towards environment protection.”

This International Mother’s Day &TV artists share how mother is their life long best friend

Indian television shows and movies are known to showcase family bonds at it’s best and have given us some iconic mother-child relationships that are remembered time and again. While many actors bring out the love and affection on screen one might wonder if it’s the same in real life too? It’s goes without saying that the love and affection is not only limited to the screen but a uniform pattern in real life too. Recognising the contribution of that one woman who has been the pillar of strength in their lives, &TV actors recall their memorable BFF moments experienced with their mother, this International Mother’s Day.

Kamna Pathak, the Dabbang Rajesh of &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan comes across as a very strong woman but deep inside she is very emotional when it comes to her mother. Talking about their relationship, Kamna Pathak shares, “My mother is my best friend and I share each and everything with her’ big or small. It has always been this way because there is no one in the world who understands me better than her. Since childhood, me and my mother have been singing folk songs together and this has made our bond even more special. I still remember, once during Shivratri me and my mother sang bhajans the entire night and there was a different kind of positivity and energy which kept us going. This is by far is the best memorable moment I’ve got to experience with her till date.”

Himani Shivpuri, the Katori amma of Happu ki Ultan Paltan says that her mother was her friend and a partner, and she misses her a lot. Talking about their relationship, Himani Shivpuri shares, “I played a lot of roles in my mother’s life. I was her driver when she wanted to go places, her collie lifting her luggage and shopping bags, her cook when she was unwell but, one role that remained unchanged is that of a friend. She was my only best friend with whom I would share every single secret of my life. We often travelled together, went on shopping sprees, had movie marathons, went for walks too and now that she’s not there, I really miss her.”

For each of us, our mother plays a very important role our lives. Sharing some precious memories with her mother Tanvi Dogra the Swati of &TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein shares, “I miss having my mother around. She was my constant shopping partner as she had a very fine taste in fashion. In return, I taught her simple make-up techniques when I started acting and also how to use messaging apps. Exactly like a true BFF, she always wanted me to be on the big screen and I hope that I’ve fulfilled this wish of her. One very important lesson that she taught me while she was ailing was to value time as it never stops for anyone and is the biggest enemy of a man. She was one of the best cooks that I ever had a meal from and wish to cook as good as her someday.”
Talking about a very important life lesson that her BFF mother taught her very recently, Sarika Bahroliya our very own Chatori Gudiya from Gudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari shares, “Our friends play an important part in our lives by enriching and encouraging us to do better. One incident so happened that while I was rehearsing for my role of Gudiya, I took time perfecting my skill and I was losing my confidence. It was my mother who made me realize that with practice anything can be mastered. This gave me immense support and will-power to do better just like a friend would give us boost when we feel low sometimes.” She dreams of making her mother see the world. Commenting on the same she said, “My mother has never asked for anything, but I know how much she wants to see the world. Hence, I aim to be successful enough to take her on a month-long international tour.”

Ashish Kadian, the Indresh of &TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein shares, “In my early childhood my mother would ask us to take afternoon naps and that would be the most boring part of the day for my brother and myself. One afternoon we sneaked out to the other room to play and this happened for a few days until our mother caught us. We were so scared of being scolded but she instead, started playing with us. This is when I realised that my mother is my friend. Since then she has been participating in all the major decisions of my life and supporting me through my tough times like a loyal BFF would.”

Nirbhay Wadhwa, the mighty Bali on the &TV show Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram, emotionally expresses, “For everyone their mother is their dearest person. It is only a mother who will call you multiple times in a day to check on you. My mother is my best friend. She is a kind, benevolent woman who has made enough and more sacrifices for me and my family without having us even realise it. She is my strength and my one source of inspiration. I miss her so much, especially now that we are under lockdown and unable to visit each other. But I know that her good energies are always with us. Someday, I wish to buy her a nice and cosy, sea-facing apartment in Mumbai. I’m working towards it and I hope to achieve it soon. Happy Mother’s Day Mummy.”

This Mother’s Day meet your favourite mother-child duos on &TV

God could not be everywhere; hence he created mothers. She is one person in our life who always takes care of us, fulfils our needs, demands, tantrums, and make our lives better. Depicting this relationship beautifully, your favourite &TV pairs share how their chemistry goes beyond lights, camera, action

Sneha Wagh, the Mata Anjani of Kahat Hanuman Jai Shri Ram shares a strong emotional connect with Bal Hanuman. Talking about her on-screen character, Sneha says, “The character of Anjani Mata is a perfect blend of beauty, courage and devotion. Anjani is a powerful character of a mother to one of the greatest devotees to have ever existed, Lord Hanuman. She is the biggest influence on Lord Hanuman’s life and guides him towards his divine duty. The show brings alive the core theme of how a mother, the first Guru, can shape her child’s life.”

Adding further, Sneha shares, “Playing a mother fills you up with real emotions and feelings. I keep checking on him if he is feeling fine as the lockdown has been quite tough on children. Even while on shoot I am concerned and protective of him, because I care a lot for him. Such is the exceptional bond between Ekagrah and me that a boy as young as him also checks up on me and asks if I am doing fine.”

It is fun to watch Himani Shivpuri, the Katori amma of Happu ki Ultan Paltan and Yogesh Tripathi aka Daroga Happu Singh’s hilarious conversations.

Talking about her on-screen equation with Yogesh, Himani says, “Katori Amma is a stubborn, unpersuadable old lady who has her own special charm. Like a typical mother, she is caring and protective of him and always wanting the best for him.”

However, the intense chemistry between the two goes back to their theatre days. Speaking about it, Himani Shivpuri said, “Yogesh & I have done a lot of plays together. He is a wonderful actor, and I feel great to play the role of his mother. Having said that, there are times when I get carried away by the character and end up scolding him, but he, as an obedient son takes it in a very nice way.”

Neha Joshi, who plays Bhima Bai in &TV’s &TV’s EK Mahanayak - Dr B R Ambedkar shares, “Bhima Bai was a humble woman who sincerely supported her husband and encouraged her children to do better. She wished to give them a better life and worked hard for their well-being.”

The actress plays the on-screen mother of Aayudh Bhanushali and shares a beautiful mother-son bond even off-screen. Neha often ends being subjected to Ayudh’s pranks and jokes but enjoys the lively aura created by him. Speaking about their off-screen relationship, she says, “Ayudh and I share a very close bond even off-screen. We spend a lot of time in between shots - playing, rehearsing, eating meals and cracking jokes. There is never a dull moment with him. He often looks up to me for guidance and support, which makes our relationship special. I care a lot for him.”

The mother-daughter duo Samta Sagar and Sarika Bahroliya – Sarla and Gudiya of &TV’s Gudiya Humari Sabhi Pe Bhari share a khatti-meethi relationship in the show. Talking about her character's on-screen bonding with Gudiya, Samta Sagar says, “Sarla, like any other mother worries about her daughter Gudiya. She wants her to get married to a good man. But her daughter embodies a girl who isn’t restricted by her current reality or any societal norms, which often lands her in unusual situations. This worries Sarla a lot, ki ab kya hoga humari Gudiya ka?”

Off-screen also the duo share an exceptional bond. Elaborating on the same, Samta says, “A mother's role is very powerful and inevitably incites multiple emotions at once. Sarika is a very sweet and down-to-earth girl, and I'm glad to play her mother on-screen. I'm always giving her acting tips because I want her to perfect the art. I love her like my own and I'm always looking out for her health & safety, especially now that Sarika is away from her parents during this lockdown time. We are always connected through video calls and chats.”

&TV to pay a special tribute through its ‘Ek Desh Ek Awaaz’ initiative on Ambedkar Jayanti

14th April is observed as one of the landmark days as the nation celebrates the birth of one of most exceptional leaders in Indian history, who rallied a revolution and became a voice to reckon with – Dr B.R. Ambedkar. This year, to create a landmark moment for Dr Ambedkar’s followers and to celebrate his 129th birth anniversary, amid the lockdown, &TV launches the ‘Ek Desh Ek Awaaz’ initiative, to pay a special tribute to Babasaheb from your very own home. As a part of this initiative, the channel urges everyone to come together for Bheem Vandana and pay special homage to Babasaheb on April 14th at 8:00 pm only on &TV.
Considered as the architect of the Indian constitution, Dr B.R. Ambedkar was a leader par excellence and whose legacy is unparalleled. He believed that the only way India could foster national unity and stability was through instating a unified code of One Nation One Constitution.
As the nation celebrates Ambedkar Jayanti today, let us look at four landmark moments in his life that made him the most exceptional leader of our times.
  1. Dr B.R. Ambedkar becomes Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Indian Constitution: Dr B.R. Ambedkar is considered as the Father of the Indian Constitution. His reputation as a scholar-led him to become India’s first law minister and subsequently, the Chairman of the committee for drafting the Constitution on 29th August 1947.
  2. Dr B.R. Ambedkar makes Sanskrit the National Language of India: At the time of the making of the Indian Constitution, keeping in mind the historical value which the Sanskrit language holds, Dr B.R. Ambedkar convinced the board to make Sanskrit as India’s national language.
  3. Dr B.R Ambedkar, the first man to lead the Women Rights Movement: Babasaheb was one of the most prominent voice for women empowerment. Through the Hindu Marriage Act, Hindu Succession, Guardianship Act, and the Hindu Code Bill, he gave a voice to the women community in fighting for their rights and encouraged them to stand shoulder to shoulder with the men.
  4. Dr B.R Ambedkar bestowed with Bharat Ratna award: On 14th April 1990, Dr B.R Ambedkar was presented with India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna Award, posthumously for his contribution towards the nation.
So, let us unite to pay a special tribute to Dr B.R. Ambedkar through ‘Ek Desh Ek Awaaz’ initiative at 8:00 pm to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti only on &TV
